Professional lessons by professionals

Now that you are visiting this page you need to be aware that you will be treated by professionals in a professional manner.

This is the process we use to ensure consistency for you the player to understand: - r

The GBPA Player Self Assessment

The GBPA team are coaches, a coach is someone who works long term with a player, we prepare you for the future, the future events and ensure you have the understanding and self belief to do the best you can in the circumstances. It is so important that we understand who you are in the golf world; how you understand what your requirements are and how working together you can develop to become a better golfer.

By taking the appropriate time, with teamwork we can make it a professional approach to ensure we deal with the areas in need of attention. Being honest with ourselves is so important and a few questions will open your mind and make it a clearer picture.

We need to be aware of what is needed to ensure your putting stroke is befitting the six fundamentals and that you gain the feel and touch that will make you a consistent putter.

The GBPA Coach Assessment

The GBPA affiliate coach is trained to understand you self assessment and where you would like to be in the golf world. It is our duty of care to understand you and that you realise how we will work together to ensure we get the results we need. The coach assessment enables us to gather the evidence we need to ensure we work to the achievable ends. We gather the evidence from our visual expertise, the use of video footage and adding the data from the Science & Motion SAM putt lab.

Following discussions we ensure that you understand the six fundamentals, not in a heavy unnecessary way, in a way where you are aware of their existence and how it all impacts on our feel.

Setting Achievable goals & Targets

Now we know where we are then it is time we set our aims and targets. It is not realistic to work on too many elements at one time; let’s not kid ourselves, to become the best putter you know you will need to work hard and develop at a rate where feel and touch can be engrained. A five minute fix is not a professional approach – long term development is the key.

Coaching Session & Technical Understanding

The coaching session follows and we work together, making good the areas that needed attention.

The six fundamentals make it a directed approach; we know what we need to do. We will be looking at the paramount areas surrounding the set up and aim. The set up is so important and causes an impact on the remaining fundamentals.

We will deal with this in a simple way and encouraging the appropriate use of feel and touch, developing your pressure points, the feel in your legs, back muscles and all that ensures you make a putting stroke that becomes instinctive and natural.

Gaining the correct Feel

It is so important that we develop where your feel comes from. We’ll looking at the pressure points in your hands, the points in your body that enables a solid base, you’ll be so aware of these elements and understand the effects they have on a pure putting stroke.

Correct & Proper Practice structure

Now we have reached pure understanding, got to know what we have to do and trust, we then move on to how we should practice and choosing the correct drills and training needs (if required).

It is so important that we have the correct type of practice to match the issue we are working on. This will be discussed and a planned approach is set.

Competition Readiness

It is so important what you will need to do when you play golf, what you can expect and how you prepare. We will discuss this together and ensure you are ready.

Keeping in touch and continued progression

Coaching is a continual process. We do not just let you into the world without arranging a return visit to ensure the improvement is understood and affective. We will also offer you the opportunity to be involved in a ‘video lesson’ facility. Keep in touch, send us the required videos and we can ensure you are on track and improving.
